Good to know

Tivoli is not open all year. The park opens for Easter and the summer season from March to September, for Halloween in October and for Christmas from mid-November to early January, with fireworks on New Year's Eve. Between the seasons the park is closed. The exact dates and daily hours are on the opening hours page.
Tivoli lies right next to Copenhagen Central Station, a few minutes' walk from Town Hall Square. If you want to leave for a break, get a stamp at the main entrance and come back in on the same day; on selected Fridays with Friday Rock concerts re-entry is not possible. The Tivoli Food Hall at the main entrance is open all year with free access from the street, even when the gardens are closed.
Tivoli was founded in 1843. Hans Christian Andersen visited the gardens many times, and so did Walt Disney. The wooden Roller Coaster from 1914 is Tivoli's oldest ride and still runs with a brakeman on board. Look out for the Pantomime Theatre, the Tivoli Youth Guard, Nimb, the Glass Hall Theatre, the Japanese Pagoda and the Concert Hall.
