Good to know
Before you buy the Copenhagen Card
Discover: attractions and public transport
The card sold here is the Discover variant. It combines free entry to more than 80 attractions with Metro, bus and S-tog across the capital region, including the trip from Copenhagen Airport into the city. Each attraction is free once per card. The full list, from Tivoli to Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, is on the included attractions page.
Which duration fits
The card runs by the hour from activation, not by calendar day. A 24-hour card suits one intensive day with two or three museums and a canal tour. If you also want a day trip to Roskilde, Helsingør or Hillerød, the 48-hour card gives you room for it. The current prices for adults and children are on the prices page.
Public transport and the airport
With Discover you do not need a separate ticket for the Metro from the airport. The card covers the zones of the capital region; you simply board and show the QR code if there is an inspection. More on the public transport page.
Buying, app and activation
After booking you receive an order code by email and load the card in the Copenhagen Card City Guide app. Buy before you travel, but only activate on arrival, because the validity starts with activation. Step by step on the how it works page.

What is the difference between Discover and Hop? +
The Discover card includes over 80 attractions plus all public transport including the airport. The Hop card includes around 40 attractions and hop-on/hop-off buses, but no regular public transport.
How do I get the card after purchase? +
After purchase you receive an order code by email. Enter this in the 'Copenhagen Card City Guide' app and only activate the card on arrival in Copenhagen. The card is exclusively digital - there is no physical card.
Is public transport including the airport included? +
Yes, with the Discover variant all public transport in the greater Copenhagen area is included, including the connection to and from the airport. The Hop card only includes sightseeing buses.
When does the card become valid? +
The time runs from activation in the app and is valid on an hourly basis, e.g. 24 hours from the chosen start time. Each attraction can be visited once for free.
Can children travel for free? +
Children aged 3 to 11 need their own Copenhagen Card Kids at the reduced child rate (maximum two per adult card); infants aged 0 to 2 go free. Young people aged 12 to 15 need a junior card, which the issuer sells directly; it cannot be booked here.
